Christmas Time

hey , long time no talk.I've been very busy these past weeks reconstructing(literally) our room.I will post photos of it anytime soon.So.. its Christmas Eve tonight.I will be helping in the kitchen for Noche Buena in just a few hours. Now let me just talk about our Christmas or how we celebrate it and what I always look forward to when Christmas.First off the 24th,for me,is the celebration or should I say the party, and the 25th is just the party-hangover,where we get a lot of money.Well,of course, everybody starts the countdown on the 100th day before christmas.I get really excited and I feel the spirit when the news or any talk shows or any shows start counting down. That's what I always look forward to and it gets me to the christmas spirit. And we attend the famous Misa de Gallo, everybody knows this except you innocent soul,so this is where in its first day you will trick yourself promising you'll never miss a mass, then after a few more days you grow tired and tired and tired of attending this absurd-ly early mass. The next thing is the building and decorating of the tree. This year this is how our tree looks like.
We celebrate christmas in my grandpa's house, the main house for any celebration.Everyone in our whole family tree all come together there to celebrate. So I guess that explains this mass of gifts that's ridiculously eating the space of the living area.It kinda looks like the gifts are swallowing the tree.Every christmas we have this monito-monita where we exchange gifts with whomever's name we picked and it usually lasts for hours because of our enormous number and sometimes has to start over. Now before the party, we all come and attend to mass, where after the mass people are rejoicing and everybody sings along with the choir,I will never forget that one moment where churchgo-ers go wild,party-animal-wild.Then,we go home and eat Noche Buena along with the famous ham and queso de bola. Then, usually the adults just chat around or sing videoke while we,young adults not children!,wait intently for the clock to hit 12 'o clock. But since the Wii came Wii Just Dance and Just Dance 2 all the way til midnight(ew sorry, that was so corny)And THE BEST AND MOST AWAITED PART:The opening of presents !!! YAAAAY !! thenafterthatwestayawaketildawn. Then,we wake up late on Christmas day and miss our ninongs and ninangs who come over.
Here's photo of us last christmas
Nope.Thats not the whole family there's more inside.
The table had to be extended outside for us to fit.

Bringing home some hard-earned golds

Its the 5th day of the 26th SEA GAMES in Indonesia and team Philippines is in 6th place so far with 14 golds,21 silvers and 27 bronze a total of 62 medals.

I'm really disappointed because the Philippine government is not in full support of our athletes.I remember my mom said that on a past SEA games a Filipino athlete was crying in an interview saying that they're no match for the other contenders and blaming the government for not supporting them and,now this would've made me cry too,for not even funding their plane tickets.Well,I wouldnt be surprised if that happens again. The government should not just support them financially, they should support them spiritually and morally and any way they think the can and stop blaming the past administration for screwing up and just MOVE ON! And to make that happen they should spread the SEA games fever!Like, show off live coverage of the games on Quiapo's LED display screen or at malls or any place with a huge display screen, like what they do in Japan when their national team is competing.

Because that's what the athletes need. For them just knowing that the people are cheering for them gives a huge boost of self-confidence.All of us should e cheering, its like our way of telling them that we got their backs coz if we dont, those athletes will go to the competitions very much feeling alone, and that could ruin their performance. But I am so proud of Philippines' team, our team, because they're struggling to earn more golds as much as they can.And 14 golds,no 62 medals! thats really pretty impressive.Ive been watching all,or should I say most of the games coz only two Philippine TV channels are doing live coverage. Also, the news are emphasizing on the gold-earners not even showing-off the sayang-moments of the silver and bronze medalist or even those who didnt win.And if the TV stations can give way to Pacquiao's fight, they should, too, with the SEA games or they can just squeeze in short briefing of every after-games.And If Manny Pacquiao's fights can stop the time of Filipinos, there's not much difference with the SEA games.Well, thats all yet of what Ive seen.

Literally brightens up my nights :P

Its good to be stargazing and relaxing with your friends especially after a stressing hour and a half of wild-ramming-of-keyboard game of DoTa.It was a breezy night and a song was playing perfect for us laying lifeless-like on the hood of a car like defeated soldiers. We're feeling bad cuz we expected to win after reviewing our heroes and the strategies and the build and all that. Not that Dota is really a big deal but it makes my knees wobbly after a game.
They're discussing the matter and by matter I meant what's gone wrong with our plan.Yeah we're making it overrated. Then I was like, anu ba ang OA naten. And we just looked up and stared at the clouds as it slowly unveiled the moon w/c shone brightly on us.And that's when the idea of stargazing came. Then, all of a sudden we were talking about how imperfectly beautiful the moon is with all its crates. So I got a camera and tried to capture the moon with its crates but I just cant.

Even with a 10x zoom camera.

So I just took photos of the night sky that was supposedly blanketed with stars.

We did stargazed ...
at this lone star,

at this lamp post,

and at these lights from a building construction
that looked like stars.
Until we grew tired so ..

I just played around with the camera
taking photos of stuff almost half a mile away from us

while they're busy texting.

  Oh , 11/11/11 just passed :P

My Heart Beats for Angel Beats! part 2

My heart beats for GirlDeMo! The main reason why I love Angel Beats! is because of SSS' sub-division, the GirlDeMo short for Girls Dead Monster. It is unexpected that an anime like Angel Beats! has a rock band, even better an all-girls rock band!, that plays an important part to SSS' missions.Oh yeah they play! they play original songs made only for Angel Beats! series. The band serves as the diversion of SSS.They are first seen on the first episode's "Operation Tornado"(yeah,SSS missions have weird names, but its fun) I had no idea what could that be.I thought they would hostage students and force them to give up their meal tickets, coz Yuri said they'd ran out of those.

But to my surprise, a band started to play rock music, I was caught off-guard, I really didnt expected that.I found myself with a manic-like smile and in awe.Well, the band did took hostage of the students, by their music. The students were kinda brainwashed.

The other members guards the outside of the cafeteria, they do look like bouncers with high-calibre guns, but their purpose is to stop Angel from stopping the concert. How they get their tickets? When the show is nearing its end, they'd turn these gigantic electric fans on(dunno what fans that big are doing in a cafeteria)and the student's meal tickets flies right outside the cafeteria where the other members are.

There.I told you the surprise of "Operation Tornado".Anyways,Girls Dead Monster's lead guitarist,Hisako, is the best! She's the perfectionist of the band and she's just awesome!

Okay, all of that are biases, because I love playing guitar, too and female guitarists are, like, all cool to me.But Iwasawa, the vocalist, really has the focus in the story. She's had  a tough life...

Well Hisako created the band Im not letting it go but Iwasawa writes all the songs. But of course, its all just in-story, because its real people who created the band so are the songs but .. Whatever. All of them have the same awesomeness. All their songs are so kick-ass,as in, that they're actually doing concerts around Japan(I mean the music & voices behind GDM) and even released albums.Angel Beats! fans are going crazy for a season 2.Its not just the story, its the music as well that captures the heart of the people.

My Heart Beats for Angel Beats! part 1

So Angel Beats! nostalgia,it's here! Its been almost two years since I first saw the Angel Beats! series.I first read about it on my friend's Otakuzine mag in the middle of an important lecture. And with all my struggle not to let my teacher notice that I have other business I was able to read the series' plot. What caught my attention was the "anti-GOD rebels" that described the characters. So I was like generating my own conclusion that maybe this will be a Goth-inspired Anime that is all complicated and only adults would like it.Well, I misunderstood.

I watched the first episode online that follows the male protagonist who found himself lying on a school ground in the middle of the night and was greeted by a girl carrying a gun aiming to an innocent-looking girl named Angel.Okay, I really shouldnt narrate you the whole story but here's the plot. They are all dead. They're in a school and all the souls people there are in highschool. And everything is just.plain.highschool,they go to class, eat lunch in a school cafeteria, live in dormitories,just.plain.highschool.

And then, there's the student council president which Yuri, leader of SSS(anti-GOD group),calls Angel because she believes she's sent by God to guide the other students. That really sounds neat but the problem is, when you are a 'lil miss goodie or mister perfect, which Angel wants everyone to be,you'll disappear.

The SSS didnt want to disappear because they believe they'll be a mollusk or any sea creature in their reincarnation, so they mess around doing notorious things like carry a gun around, cut classes, sleep in class and tries killing Angel.(They are already dead remember? So they can recover from being 'dead')

They even hold concerts in the cafeteria during lights-out and carry out dangerous missions. Then as the story goes on each character's memories when they were alive will be revealed which are all dreadful. And the protagonist has gotten an  amnesia and he cant remember his memories, until he recovers it and has had a better understanding why he's in that world. And then he realizes what the president was trying to do.

Really, an interesting and unpredictable story isnt it?There's never a dull moment in this 13-episode Anime and its full of surprises.Angel Beats! moved me, It kinda juggles my emotions as I watch it.And its stuck in my brain or should I say forever attached to my heart.cheesy.

Shiori Sekine

Woot ! Guess what? I became an admin on Angel Beats! facebook page! After approximately 3 weeks of actively interacting with the other admins they hired me! ^.^ LOL and I am Shiori Sekine!
I wanted to be Hisako but unfortunately she's already taken, at least Im part of Girls Dead Monster. But honestly, there's a resemblance between Shiori and me.She's the kind of girl who likes to play pranks on others around her just to see their jaw-dropped faces. Its awesome, I can hold pop quizzes or contests or post whatever on the page with almost two thousand fans.ayy up high.I think Im becoming more and more like a geek.I'll tell you more about my Angel Beats! nostalgia some other time.

Happy Room where fairies live

Check this out!A cute fairy kei store just off ofTakeshta.I saw this in Shibuya Fashion TV.I think it opened around 2009.There's a lot of this kind of stores in Japan.Who would not like to shop in SBY Happy Room? The outside looks small(and attracting) but the inside is big.

Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of Kawaii stuff, from accessories to make-up and other cosmetics Harajuku girls are existing for.

Oh , and it also have a small food court of some sort.Isnt it awesome?

They say SBY's desserts are popular.

But the coolest spot is this.A makeup room with all cosmetic stuffs for free, and they also have hair dryers, hair wax, curling iron and hair straighteners that is free to use.I hope the girls there get along. :P

The End is Near

The Walking Dead fever is so coming back to me.Its 90-minute pilot episode of season 2 premiers this Sunday and Im uber excited!Ever since I finished the whole first season,Ive been watching beind-the-scenes and never-before-seen videos of TWD coz I cant effin' wait!I was thirsting for real horror movies at that time and all Ive seen was predictable and not-at-all scary movies. Its my mom who got me hooked when she brought home TWD season 1 DVDs and it got me hanging at the end.One reason TWD got me is that its not just like any other scary movie/series but its a fight for survival and even when the scenes are calm and the characters are safe and all that, there's no peace of mind, you just know that anytime there's gonna be a zombie attack, and there's no place safe only, safer.I really wish I could be one of the zombies in TWD.That would be awesome!I just have an aesthetic love for zombies even if they eat brains.

Why,What do I know? It's Teen Age

I've been scavenging hunting clothes for my next Tokyo Fashion project, and I've been to thrift stores and department stores and boutique shops and to all sorts of  stores that has a mannequin displayed on their windows. And I noticed while in the department store that I got my eyes on the shoes at the kids section, like its luring me or something, not just because kids section is playful with colors  w/c is soo Harajuku but 'coz almost all the shoe designs are soo Tokyo Fashion.I was really lured that I actually tried to fit some shoes(not my size)when no one was looking. And it looked oh,so good on meh!*wink*Every single glance on every single shoes I can already imagine what outfit it should match.I was almost whining about why they dont have my size.Well, maybe because we're in the kids section?duh.I dont know!I'm so addicted to shoes nowadays and I'm such a shoppaholic,I remember when my sister and I went to SM and coincidentally there was a BiG sale;we bought everything we could.I wonder what would happen if I get to hold a credit card.It looks like I'm turning into a real live character from Soppaholic or worse,Mean Girls or any yay-i-got-a-golden-ticket-but-daddy-i-want-another-pony movie(oh, you know what i mean)That's actually a line from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.Oh,the most exciting part of life:Teen Age*bats fake eyelashes*
So if you want more teen life or you just simply love it,check this out!Rookie an online teen mag created by Tavi Gevinson a 15 y/o real live teen.lol.

Music in me part 1

Music....I have a weird feeling when listening to different specific songs. It's a feeling I've felt some time before,It's like I'm time-traveling,exploring in my mind.(Wooooh!! Suckerpunch)Like for example,Lady GaGa's Just Dance transports me in the Fiesta international's Vine Tomb when I was killing ghosts and zombies trying to reach lvl. 40,Saosin's I Can Tell brings me to Relic of the Abyss with help from my sis at lvl 51 trying to reach 60...Okay,all of that are in-game,what I mean is the feeling while I'm playing.

Then,Jordin Sparks' Tattoo brings me back to the varsity days with all my teammates waiting for our coach listening to the radio in the Fx that will take us to the championship game,Aquatimez's Alone when I was doing a part time job in a computer shop.Nana Kitade's Kesenai Tsumi brings me to the Friendster days,Girls Dead Monsters' Crow Song in the hectic days of trying to download all Angel Beats! episodes .. and the list goes on.All I'm saying is music makes me remember. And I'm gonna use music to make me be remembered ! *victorious laugh* ... Okay,I'm just kidding.I love Lady GaGa but I'm not turning to a Fame Monster.

Sing us a song, and we'll sing it back to you ..

Wooot ! I found our long lost recordings . Haha . and posted it in Youtube!! LOL !
Yep, there's my sis in black. We were actually just practicing for the upcoming battle of the bands in school. We recorded it so we can hear what we sound like.To her defense;she had a  sore throat, okay!lol.Recorded last March 2011.I should probably not post it in facebook or my sis' life will be over.:

Hmmm.. I kinda think I should post all our records. >:D

A hologram concert , how cool is that?

Just saw this Hatsune Miku's concert .. O.O *shrieks*

In other country this would be like, what the?.. But the Japanese accepted this.Of course, any other anime-freak would go crazy for this.Imagine, your fave animes come to life and perform on a stage. That's the suckerpunch!

                           This is my favorite :P

I sometimes think archeology is for me ..

We just watched Philippine Treasures last Sunday night.(It's been a while)It's a documentary about ancient things used by our ancestors millions .. even billions of years ago that was found in the Philippines.I'm quite disappointed that some of those artifacts are being exhibited in a museum in Chicago,U.S.A. I know it's for the better so it can be preserved fully .. but it's just not the same where we can personally see it in the country it belongs to.It's just that the government doesnt have a budget for these kinds of issues.Yeah I know the country has a lot of problems right now but they should at least fund a group that will preserve and promote our museums, not just to tourists but to the average commoners as well.I honestly didnt know a national museum exists until Philippine Treasures aired and its been added to my Travel Plans list.I sometimes think, what is it like to be part of a team who finds fascinating artifacts that can be added to the culture of our ancestors or could change the theories about  HiStory. That would be an honor! Its like treasure hunting at the same time learning different cultures. Its like time traveling which I had always wanted to do at the same time helping to nourish our history with those "missing link".I guess thats the job of an Archeologist.I think some characteristics of an archeologist matches me.I really think Archeology is my path .. I dont know.I've been interested in history since, like,i was in 3rd grade.I was even a gold and bronze medalist of a history quiz bee.
(not to brag about it but to prove that I'm really in love with history)
Hmmm....Theres still a lot of time to think it over. All i can say is I'm really proud to be part of a country with culture & history so rich that no other country can take it away..
